“Wool has a strong future; I’m looking forward to helping shape that future in a way that sees wool’s contributions to the wellbeing of people and our environment valued by brands globally and valuable to wool growers.” – Stuart Heal, Wool Impact Chair

In August, Stuart Heal was appointed the new Chair of Wool Impact. Stuart’s knowledge, experience and extensive rural background will help lead Wool Impact and our sector in generating new demand and value for New Zealand strong wool.

Cromwell-based, Stuart has extensive governance experience. He is Chair of Breen Construction, Road Transport Logistics and Pulse Energy. He served as Chair of the New Zealand Cricket Association from 2012-2016 and was made a Member of the NZ Order of Merit for service to sport and the community in 2016. Stuart led CRT (Combined Rural Traders, a large agriculture supply company) as CEO for 20 years with a deep understanding of growers and the importance of wool for many rural communities.

Stuart replaces Mike Allen who successfully led the Wool Impact board through the establishment phase. We’re pleased to be working with Stuart as we embark on our second year of the Wool Impact programme.
